When I was young I always play outside because I know playing will make me feel happy even though I get hurt sometimes. I always feel like I want to accomplish something every day because I don't like to sit and do nothing. I made my sculpture because sports are my passion and sports helps me to accomplished something; like making to tryouts in basketball, breaking the record in Junior High cross country, breaking the record in 1600m, 4 by 4 relay, and 4 by 800m relay in track and field. Every time I accomplish something I feel better and it can convince myself to work very hard every day.

Overview Statement |
I made my sculpture by using clay and tools for the clay. Before I start I have to find the scale of my sculpture because I am making a whole body, so my sculpture has to be able to stand and which is balance or else my sculpture will always fell. I took some block that connects to the tube, then I put some newspaper around the tube and put some tape around the newspaper. After I finished I took some clay and started to make a ball and the ball that I made is 2 inches. Then, I stick the clay in the top of the tube and shaped the ball. After working on the ball head I started putting some clay under the ball which is the body, the scale of the body is 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. Next, I shaped the body a little bit muscular I tried to make the abs pop out a little bit while wearing a shirt. Then I started making two hands, so I can attach it to the left of the shirt and right. As I working on my arm I made the baton and basketball trophy so I can make fingers to make it looks like my sculpture is holding a baton on the right and holding a basketball trophy. After I made all of the top body I add some clay in the middle of the shirt to make it looks like the abs are showing even though my sculpture is wearing a shirt. After I finished molding the top body I started working on the bottom part. I took clay and shaped it to a rectangle which is 4.5 inches long and 2 inches wide. Next, I started cutting some part to make a short and legs to, to form it I used my fingers. Then, I cut the top of the bottom part and hollowed it inside, so I can connect the top body. While working on my bottom part I took some clay and made two shoes and laces for the feet. I have to be careful because if my shoes are not even my sculpture will not stand. Next, I connect the shoes to bottom parts. Before I connect the top and bottom parts I have to take the newspaper out of the body part. After taking out the newspaper I started connecting the body and bottom part which surprises me because my sculpture did not fall after drying it. After molding, I started painting the big details first, then medium details, and lastly the small details.

Reflective Statement
Every detail in my sculpture overall is my strong components because I put all of my ideas in one sculpture which describes me and tells about me. Like the shirt of my sculpture wearing a stripe which represents a shirt of referee because every sport they always have a referee which is important in sports. Without a referee, the game will always mess up and fights will most likely occur. I learn to my sculpture is playing sports can affect your life and make you a better version of yourself because you will learn how to be respectful to your coach, responsibility, and leadership. I think my sculpture went well like what I am expecting to see because it's almost the same as my sketchbook. I could have done better is fixing the arm of my sculpture and make it more muscular because as you play sports your muscle is expanding and getting stronger. Also, I would make the ball more rounded so it looks more realistic. Using the molding process I learned how to use the scale and balance in my sculpture. Also, I learned how to form a clay using some tools to shape and size my sculpture. I would apply the scale in my future because I think scaling is important. Scaling is important because if something you want to make it stand you will need to measure how wide, long, and big will be your sculpture.
