Our first project was to create a shed model. In this unit, we built a 3/4 scale model of a shed. We learned how to draw a floor plan and frame residential walls that includes a door and windows. We also design the outside the shed using some fake bushes and trees to make it looks appealing and finish product. What I like about this project is how the foundation of the building were made and it looks great in different angle of the picture. What I could have done differently in this project is probably remove the green inside the house and add a pond outside the bard by using a blue paper.
ELEVATIONS
We created four elevation drawings in Auto-CAD for our next project. North, East, South, and West are the elevations. Elevation drawings are used to show how a finished design will look. Elevations are created by looking down from a vertical plane at the exterior or interior surface of a building. Elevation drawings also show the appearance of the doors, windows, and siding. Lastly, we learned how to find the slope of the roof by using the rise over run.
SECTION
In this project, we concentrate on the detail section, in which we annotate only specific parts of a building. Working drawings of architectural sections are commonly used. Sections can also be used as design concept and presentation drawings. Break lines, similar to full-section drawings, were used on detail sections to reduce vertical distances. Using break lines allows you to draw a larger area than you would if you included the entire distance in the drawing. Break lines are used where the construction does not change over a long distance.
REVIT
In this project we were able to create floor plans, elevations, sheets, and a roof using Revit. We also learned how to add a door, windows, interior walls, and exterior walls. What I like about this project is finding the right door, windows, and garage door for the garage building. What I don't like about this project is or I what I could have done better is probably changing the slope of the roof to find the better roof for this building.
TINY HOME
In this project we created a tiny home with a kitchen, bed room, and a bathroom. We learned how to create the floor plan, internal wall, external wall, adding a door, windows, furniture, and other things that we can add inside the house to make it looks appealing. We also learned how to create an elevations for all of the views which are the North, East, South, and West views. What I liked about this project adding all of the furniture and things inside the house.
North Gore
In this project, I used Revit to create room legend/ presentation plan, area plan, dimensioned floor plan with schedule, four elevations, building section, and a 3D interior views(5). What I like about this project is adding all of the furniture and other things inside the house because it gives you freedom to move where they all fit together especially the kitchen area to make it looks better than the original copy of the floor plan.
Walkthrough
I was able to create a Walkthrough video on the house I did which is the "North Gore '' by using Revit. First, by clicking the walkthrough tool on the toolbar I was able to define a path of the camera on my copy of the floor plan of the house. Then, after adjusting the path and height that I want, I click the Finish Walkthrough in the ribbon on the far right side to add the walkthrough branch to the project browser. Before exporting the project, I played the video to make sure the resolution is good and has the right frames (which one of the mistakes I did, it made the video a little bit faster).
Hearst Tower
One of the best-known building structures in North America is the Hearst Tower located at 57th Street and 8th Ave in Manhattan, New York City, which is near Central Park. This building was designed by an architect named Norman Foster. The Hearst Tower was completed on April 30, 2006, and placed on top of the antique building called “International Magazine Building”, which was originally designed by Joseph Urban and George B. Post & Sons. The International Magazine Building was completed in 1928, and the inside of the building was designed in an art-deco style.
